Tārīkh is a genre of books of history within Islām focusing on a particular era, most commonly dealing with the major scholars or narrators of Ḥadīth during that time period. Majority are focused on either a specific city, events, individuals, or even the beginning of creation until the time of the author. They can also contain biographies of the figures mentioned within them.
There are many books of Tārīkh, but herein we’ll be looking into only those that are critically acclaimed & have Tārīkh in the title. This list will be categorized into chronological order by era.
May Allāh have mercy upon these compilers, forgive them of their shortcomings, & reward them abundantly for their contributions to the religion of Islām.
All praise is due to Allāh, may His peace & blessings be upon our final Prophet Muḥammad, his family, his companions, & all those who follow him in guidance.
